The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 25 suspected criminals in two weeks. Among the suspects was a woman, who allegedly paid assassins to kill her husband.
Also arrested were 15 suspected armed robbers.
The Commissioner of Police in-charge of the state, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, who paraded the suspects said they were intercepted in different locations within the state.
According to him, a woman (names withheld) was arrested for allegedly paying an assassin to murder her husband.
He said the woman was picked after an assassin was arrested. The assassin had named the woman as the person who contracted him to kill her husband.
"That the woman paid him N600,000 to eliminate her husband," he said.
According to him, the suspect and the woman would be charged to the court soon.
He said another suspected assassin was also arrested at the Maza Maza area of the state where he went to kill a lady.
Owoseni said eight other armed robbery suspects, including a police sergeant were arrested for robbing some Chinese nationals.
According him, five suspected armed robbers who shot and killed a presenter with LTV 8, Olusegun Abiodun, were arrested.
He said the presenter was killed on August 7, after he was dispossessed of his belongings by the hoodlums, adding that operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) had been on the trail of the armed robbers until luck ran out on them.
